The actual radar detector is installed above and behind the rearview mirror where it's hard to see and use but it can still detect signals clearly in front and behind. When the remote is plugged in it automatically turns off the lights one the detector so it always looks like it's off. The only problem having here is that when I take off the Uinta Annual pass it's hard to get my hands behind the mirror.
