Transmitting Antenna
My original idea was to mount the transmitting antenna by screwing it into the side of the dome light bubble that faces the windshield, but the antenna was too firmly screwed in, it stuck at an odd angle that pushed it into the windshield. I took the antenna back off and stuck it with suction cups to the windshield behind the rearview mirror where I can't see it. The mount is surprisingly stable, the two cables that connect to it work well with the suction cups to keep the antenna from bouncing when going over "washer-board" on the trail. The antennas have come unstuck twice but neither time was offroad, they were just hot days, maybe I can get some really weak adhesive to hold them on.
The power for the antenna is hardwired into the fuse box in the engine compartment.
